How to Make Captain America’s Shield at home with Paper Mache
Material Required:
- Old News Paper
- Indian Frying Pan (Kadai or WOK)
- Water
- Rice water
- Fevicol
- Acrylic colours
- Hot glue gun
- Elastic
Follow these easy DIY steps to make Captain America Shield at home:
Time needed: 1 day.
Shield DIY
- Soaking Newspaper
First step is to roll the new paper and cut the rolls into small pieces and soak them in water for 2 hours.
- Applying Soaked Newspaper to Wok
Take an indian frying pan (kadai), apply a little water on it and paste a layer of newspaper strips on it. Next, you need to apply rice water on Kadai to paste another layer of newspaper strips, repeat the step to make 3-4 layers of newspaper strips. Add as many layers as possible to give strength to the shield. Now let it dry under the sun.
- Giving shield shape
Once the base is dry, take it out from Kadai and paste the corners of the newspaper with fevicol for an appropriate shape. For final touch, apply a layer of fevicol inside the shield and leave it for sometime to get it dry.
- Drawing and Painting shield design
Post it is dry, draw Captain America’s Shield design on it with balck marker and paint the shield with Fabric colours.
- Provision to Hold the shield
Moving on to the next step, stick two elastic bands with a hot glue gun to make the handles so that you can hold the shield.
