This year, due to Covid, there will be no Dussehra Mela. But we will still celebrate Dussehra. So, we will make our own mini Ravan with paper and cardboard. And you will see – it is really simple and fun to make.
How to make Ravan at home with paper
Material Required:
- Waste Paper
- Cardboard Roll
- Fevicol
- Acrylic Colors
- Decoration Material
- Craft Scissors
Follow these simple DIY steps to make Ravan at home with paper and cardboard:
Time Needed: 30 minutes.
Ravan with paper and cardboard:
- Mid-body:
First, take an empty cardboard roll and make 2 opposite holes towards one of the edges of the roll. Cover the roll from both sides with cardboard pieces.
- Legs:
Now, make two thin paper rolls and attach to the other side of the cardboard roll with the 2 holes. These two paper roles will make the legs of Ravana.
- Dress:
Then, prepare a paper cone and then trim the cone from both top and bottom to make the dress of Ravan. Now attach this dress to the body of the Ravan by passing the body through this cone.
- Arms:
Next, use a long thin paper roll and pass this roll through the two7 holes created in the cardboard roll to make the arms. Fold the arms in the desired posture.
- Head of the Ravan:
Now, make two paper rolls. One to the size of the head and the other on a little thinner.
Use the thinner role to make the neck and attach it on top of the body. Attach the larger role on top of this neck to make the head. - Painting:
Paint the entire Ravan with your favorite colors.
- Detailing:
Then, cut out a piece of paper in the shape of the crown. Paste it on the head. Give details to the face like hair, eyes, mustache, mouth, details on dress, etc.
- Decoration:
Now, decorate the Ravan with material of your choice to make it look cool. Attach a cardboard sword and shield to complete the look.
- Other 9 heads:
Since, the Ravan has 10 heads, we need to prepare another 9 heads with large paper rolls in the same manner. We don’t need the neck piece for these rest of heads. At back use a paper roll for support.
- DIY Ravan:
Yay! your Ravan with paper at home is ready. Happy Dussehra to all!
