Diwali Rangoli Decoration Ideas

Material Required:

  • Cardboard
  • Waste Paper
  • Fevicol
  • Acrylic Colors
  • Decoration Material – Pearls, Mirror, Beads. Buttons, etc.
  • Candles/Diya

Step by Step Instructions to make your cardboard Rangoli:

Time needed: 45 minutes.

Cardboard Rangoli in a Box

  1. Create the cardboard base

Cut 5 square cardboard pieces – size 10x10cm and paste them with the help of the paper to form a “+” with cardboard. We join these with paper because paper can easily fold.
Cut another 4 cardboard pieces in the shape of a dome and paste these 4 pieces also on the four corners of the “Plus”. Again paste these with paper so that these can also fold.
When you try to fold all these pieces, they will fold inside to make a box.
Cut 4 big cardboard circles – radius 6 cm and 8 small cardboard circles – radius 2 cm.

  2. Make a Lid

Take a square cardboard piece – size 10.5×10.5cm and 4 pieces – size 10×3 cm. Paste the four small pieces on the side of the square piece to make the lid of the box.

  3. Paint the cardboard pieces

Use Acrylic colors to paint the entire inside and outside along with the circles . You can paint it any color and design you like. You can watch the design used by us in the video.

  4. Decorate the Rangoli

You can now use the decoration elements like mirrors, beads, pearls, etc. Use any decoration material you like. I buy all my decoration material from THE DESIGN CART – https://thedesigncart.com

  5. Test and Box and Carry it

Once the color and decoration is done, try folding it in the box. Pack all the decoration circles inside the box (as shown in the video). Now close the lid. You can now carry it with you wherever you want.

  6. Decorate your house

Take the box to any location in your house/office. Open the box to spread out the Rangoli and then use candles or Diya to light up house.
